Last year, Steven A Hunt & Associates launched a new initiative to halve its greenhouse gas emissions before 2030 and achieve net zero before 2050. The project comes as part of Steven A Hunt & Associates’ continued investment into its ESG strategy and shows how the business is adapting traditional engineering processes to meet its sustainability commitments.
Carbon Footprint
Steven A Hunt & Associates is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and improving sustainability across all areas of the business. It aims to exceed industry expectations, build on previous carbon savings, and continue publishing its full Carbon Management Plan, aligning it with every future project.
The company is strengthening its environmental strategy through the ongoing development of its Carbon Working Group, yearly reporting, updates to its Carbon Management Plan, investment in renewable energy, maintaining its 5-star Green Achiever status, and building on the 18.7 tonnes of CO₂e reduced in 2022.
Alongside internal action, the business works with its community to cut carbon emissions through energy, procurement and waste audits, reducing energy use across its sites, and monitoring emissions from business and fleet vehicles. As part of the SME Climate Commitment, it continues to drive improvements that reduce waste and support wider climate goals.
With a broad range of public and private sector projects, Steven A Hunt & Associates is well-placed to reduce its own greenhouse gas emissions, support clients in meeting sustainability targets, and progress towards net-zero by 2030.
Neil Baines, Managing Director, Shares His Insights
“At Steven A Hunt & Associates, we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and so it goes without saying that I am immensely proud to launch this new initiative as part of our further investment into halving our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030 and achieving net zero before 2050. In order to build on the progress we have made so far, we encourage our employees to voice their opinions and take an active role in developing our carbon management plan which is testament not only to our reputation in the sector, but also our aim to continuously improve rather than simply comply with targets.”
