A New Years Message from Steve

It seems like only yesterday I was looking forward to 2022 and having come through Covid the prospects where looking good and indeed it was an excellent year, it seemed that people wanted to get things done and everyone was busy. The company structure was strengthened with four long term employees investing in the business, becoming Directors as part of future succession planning and all four have made huge progress settling into their new roles.

We had a record year end in July 2022 and since then there has been no let up. A long recruitment campaign came to fruition in the third quarter with new recruits to the team, necessary to maintain our high standards of delivery and high level of quality staff.

One year on, the prospects for 2023 seem equally as buoyant, however the external economic messages are all pointing to a dip and a fall into recession. Never before has such a good image of prosperity been potentially accused of fraud and only time will tell. It does seem only logical that spiraling costs, lack of materials and resources will lead to a slow down and the government needs to get a grip of inflation, but a fate as harsh as 2008 would be a major set back.

With a much stronger overall fiscal governance it seems unlikely that a deep recession is looming but an air of caution is probably prudent and I am optimistic that we are in a stronger position than we where in 2008. We have good solid clients who appreciate what we do and a handsome pipeline of orders and whilst challenging are sensibly planned without us overstretching.

I look forward to another strong year, conscious of the potential slow down but confident in our excellent team of people who like always will pull their weight and contribute to the overall continuing success of our business.
