Take a look at some of our previous projects:
Aintree NHS Foundation Trust - Aintree UCAT (2011) - £19m
The scheme comprised the construction of a new build extension and the refurbishment of the existing A&E department to create an "Urgent Care & Trauma Centre". Extensive survey work and preparation was necessary to enable a portion of the existing building to be demolished whilst the A&E department remained in occupation. All of the services were designed to comply with NHS Model Engineering Specifications and HTM documentation.
Villacare / Countess of Chester NHS Trust - Tier 4 CAMHS Unit (2014) - £8M
This project was the construction of a three-storey building comprising twenty-six secure bedsits for a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital, Chester. The building is split into a male and female ward (Maple & Pine Wards) and occupies several communal spaces along a centralised plant room, tank room, plant deck and comms room. The ward’s communal space comprises of numerous facilities, including; a quiet room, day space, staff base, meeting rooms, ward offices, assisted bathrooms, cleaners, general wc's, a dining room, pantry, learning / recreational zone, clinic, ADL kitchen, laundry clean / dirty utility, break out, interview room , multi faith and circulation spaces. Areas are subdivided via air lock holding areas. A PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) is located on the ground floor, in the ‘boomerang’ area on the east elevation.
Salford Royal NHS Trust - Turnberg Building (2015) - £4.5M
3 new theatres were introduced to the Turnberg building at Salford Royal. Theatre ventilation was built at first floor level, and UCVs routed from the 2nd floor plant room, with the ceilings packed with fully coordinated services linking to the existing facility. The challenge was to build this facility in a currently occupied working hospital with access needed around the front of the building at all times. Contractor – Thomas Barnes Construction
Citybranch Limited - Altrincham Health Centre (2015) - £18M
This project involves the construction of a new Health Centre in Altrincham which is to be spread across four floors. Each floor will accommodate medical related facilities such as minor treatment rooms, consulting rooms, welfare facilities and will also have office accommodation, meeting rooms and combined waiting areas and circulation space. At ground floor there will be facilities for a pharmacy, library, and cafe and in addition to this there is also a basement car park area.
The Private Clinic of Harley Street - Fitzroy Square Clinic (2016) - £900K
This project saw the basement area of an office accommodation in London converted into a new clinic.
The existing unit had several offices which formed part of an office block with access at ground floor level. The new unit accommodates two theatre suites and recovery facilities together with supporting services. The new layout allows for visitors of the clinic to gain access via the elevator from the ground floor to basement level, arriving in the lobby area, leading to the reception and two consulting rooms.
For this project, new theatres were also created, which offer local and general anaesthetic facilities, along two recovery rooms, which are all complete with the appropriate ventilation. The two theatre spaces are also utilised for minor operations.
Royal Bolton NHS Hospital - A&E Extension (2018) - £600K
The Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust urgently required an extension to their A&E Department. This build project included a single storey modular building which was attached to the front of the existing A&E department. The new facility included 7 minor treatment rooms, a waiting area, reception desk, staff offices and toilets.
Alliance Medical/ Imaging Matters - Queen Mary’s Sidcup Hospital, Pet Scanner (2020) - £1.8M
The team was appointed by Imaging Matters to provide a Stage 5 design for the development of a 232 m2 modular PET CT facility at Queen Mary’s Sidcup Hospital. The team provided initial advice and then established basic principles such as the service of incoming points, distribution methods, intake and extract louvres and space allocation for plants.
