The construction of a three storey building comprising of twenty six secure bedsits for a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital, Chester.
The building is split into a male and a female ward (Maple and Pine Wards) and occupies a number of communal spaces along with a centralised plantroom, tankroom, plant deck and comms room.
Ward communal space comprising of quiet room, day space, snug, staff base, meeting rooms, ward offices, assisted bathroom, cleaners, general wc’s, dining room, pantry, learning / recreational zone, clinic, ADL kitchen, laundry, clean / dirty utility, break out, interview, multi-faith and circulation space. Areas are sub-divided via air lock holding areas.
A PICU (psychiatric intensive care unit) shall be within the ground floor boomerang area on the east elevation.
