Rutherford Diagnostics consisted of the complete re-modelling and refurbishment of an existing old Fire Brigade Headquarters (call centre) in Blackbrook, Taunton, Somerset.

The existing building comprised of 3 levels, ground floor which was completely remodelled to include 2 No MRI rooms, 2 No CT scan rooms, Ultrasound room, X Ray and associated cannulation and patient changing and consulting examination rooms and other associated service rooms and main waiting and reception space. Our designs included the full MEP design to service the above including complete temperature and humidity control to the MRI rooms together with associated scanner head cooling.

At first floor level the existing accommodation was re-modelled to include new staff WC and changing  and tea brew accommodation. The remaining spaces were left unchanged and are being dealt with as a second phase scheme.

Second floor levels remained unchanged however new ventilation plant was installed at roof level to services the CT suite and MRI suites.

The ventilation design was completed in REVIT so that we could co-ordinate the installation with the existing structure.
