Overview
DAM’s Furniture commissioned the refurbishment of its main office block at Gores Road, Knowsley Industrial Estate. The project was delivered in two phases to allow continuous business operations: Phase 1 created a new meeting room and fully refurbished the first floor, including showroom, server room, offices, WCs and kitchen; Phase 2 decanted staff from the ground floor before carrying out a complete refurbishment of reception, large showroom, projector space, R&D office, kitchen, meeting rooms and staff entrance. The scheme required exposed services to be coordinated to a high standard, ensuring both technical performance and architectural design intent were achieved.

Mechanical works included new mechanical ventilation, VRV heating and cooling systems with Daikin units, electric panel heaters, hot and cold water services, above ground drainage, sanitaryware, controls, and full testing and commissioning. Ventilation systems comprised ceiling-mounted HRUs, twin fan extract systems, ductwork, grilles, dampers and silencers, coordinated for exposed areas with painted finishes to match the architectural scheme. Electrical services included LV mains and sub-mains distribution, containment, general and emergency lighting with controls, small power, mechanical plant wiring, fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control, CCTV, disabled refuge, structured wiring, and lightning protection. All works were specified to current CIBSE, IEE and Building Regulations, with integration to the client’s IT and BMS systems.
