Overview
The scheme involved the installation of new rooftop air handling plant and DX cooling, supported by new distribution boards and electrical containment. The refurbishment also required ceiling removal to gain access to ductwork, necessitating replacement of lighting, fire alarm systems, nurse call, and security services. Close coordination was required to deliver the works in a live hospital environment, ensuring patient safety and uninterrupted operation of adjacent clinical areas. All works were fully designed to Stage 4 by SHA, with the contractor developing installation drawings for approval.
