The new STEMM building is on the existing Blackburn College Campus sited between the existing University Centre and CCA Building. The building will provide STEMM teaching classrooms, electric and gas workshops, higher education engineering, music and media departments.
Given the use of the building as a training centre for renewable technologies the services include Photovoltaic's, ground source heat pumps, solar collectors, air to water heat pumps and a gas fired 40kwt combined heat and power unit which will act as lead boiler for the building.
