Overview
Details
Steven A. Hunt & Associates were appointed to provide full Mechanical and Electrical design consultancy services to support the refurbishment. Our role covered the preparation of tender documentation, coordinated service layouts, and design intent specifications for all new building services. The project included six food & beverage units, eight fixed retail units, two fresh food stalls, and four artisan stalls — each independently metered — as well as new amenities and communal seating areas. We were also tasked with ensuring the safe strip-out of redundant services and coordination with the wider professional team to deliver a compliant and buildable solution.
M&E Solution
On the mechanical side, works included new hot and cold water services, replacement boiler plant, kitchen supply and extract ventilation with Halton MARVEL demand-based controls, soils and waste systems, sanitaryware, and alterations to existing heating. Electrical services comprised a new 300kVA incoming supply, a main switchboard and Eaton distribution boards, general and emergency lighting, small power distribution, containment, fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, access control, and public address systems. All services were designed to meet CIBSE and HSE ACOP L8 standards, fully tested and commissioned, and integrated into the Building Management System to ensure long-term efficiency and resilience.
