What’s the best thing about your job?

The people I work with both within Steven Hunts & the wider Construction Industry

What advice would you give to someone wanting to start a career in construction?

No two days are ever the same in Construction. The Construction Industry is full of characters.  Its never boring. And being part of that delivery team that design and build the town you live and work in is not only interesting but very rewarding and lasts for generations to enjoy for years to come.

If you were not a BDM in construction, what would you be?

I quite like the idea of owning and running a gin distillery!

Name: Rosie Davis

Role: Business Development Manager

How long have you worked at SHA? 1.5 years

What’s the best thing about your job?

I like that no day is ever the same and I am not stuck behind a computer all day every day. I am out and about talking to people which is what I love doing any way!

Another thing would be that half of my job is managing the marketing and social media for the company. I have been able to put into practice what I learnt at Uni whilst studying a marketing degree and develop my knowledge even further.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to start a career in construction?

I think there is a misconception that construction is all hard hats and hi-vis jackets. But there are a lot of professional roles that take place off site which are just as important (and less dirty!!) so don’t be put off if you don’t fancy the grafting side of the industry.

If you were not a BDM in construction, what would you be?

I love the idea of owning a bar / venue as I love organising events and hosting parties so I think I would be good at it!
