The Autumn season is upon us! Here's an update on what the SHA team have been up to since coming out of the first lockdown.

New Project Wins

Sefton Council is transforming the town centre market into a unique and modern food and drinks market. We have joined the team to help redesign and refurbish the mechanical and electrical components of the building.

Langroyd Hall, Assisted Living Facility - Contract Value £3.5M
We have been appointed by MDA Consulting to provide a performance brief and outline drawings for a 33 Apartment Extra Care scheme near to Burnley.

Cardiothoracic Theatres 3 & 4, Wythenshawe Hospital, £1.7M
Wythenshawe Hospital is upgrading two theatres in its Cardiothoracic Department and we have been appointed to provide a full stage 4 design for the refurbishment.

Arrowe Park Hospital / Wirral University Hospital Theatres, £175K

We are also delivering a stage 4 design for the refurbishment of five theatres at Arrowe Park Hospital

We are delighted to have been appointed on to three frameworks in the last two months.

The Procure Partnerships Framework is nationally renowned for its success in helping public sector bodies deliver their strategic targets and has been involved in world class schemes across the country. We are looking forward to working with PPF team over the next four years.

Stoke-on-Trent and the Wirral are two places in the UK that are being heavily regenerated. We are excited to be able to get the chance to work with the councils and framework partners in the process of developing these two fantastic areas of the country

Anne and Shaun 2

In the olden days when things didn’t look like they would fit, engineers toiled with set square, chisel point pencil and scale rule, drawing all manner of elevations, isometrics and sections. Nowadays, we can recreate proposals all in a virtual world using modern technology and accurately sized components to test scenarios not only from an installation point of view but from a maintenance perspective as well.

As a result, we created a sample service riser which was then built on site (pictured above) by A&B Engineering and used as a template to be reproduced 100 times for the £33M, 250 bedroom, Novotel Hotel located in Paddington Village, Liverpool.

Congratulations to James Hopewell, our CAD Technician, who celebrated his 5 year work-anniversary in September and to our Head of Business Development, Anne King, who celebrated being part of the SHA Team for whole decade at the start of October.

Thank you both for all your hard work and loyalty over the years!

Rosie & Sock Monkey snowdon

Struggling to find ways to network safely under the new Covid-19 rules, our BDM Rosie decided to think outside the box and climb Snowdon with some of her fellow construction friends (and our Company Mascot, Sock Monkey.)

A 3,560 foot, socially distanced hike is definitely one way of building relationships, Rosie!

Girls network

We are really proud to share the news that Anne has become a mentor at The Girls' Network.

The Girls' Network is a group which has a mission "to inspire and empower girls from the least advantaged communities by connecting them with a mentor and a network of professional female role models." With over 16 years experience in the construction industry, Anne has learnt a lot along the way so this is a fantastic opportunity for her to share some of her experiences with the next generation. Good work Anne!
