A new state of the art 13000 sqft four storey College for Wakefield has recently been completed. The building was developed with the client to meet all teaching and learning objectives utilising design solutions which provide services that are both economical to run and maintain.

The new College includes facilities for Childcare, Life Skills, Brickwork, Heavy Engineering/Welding, Light Engineering, Motor Vehicle Engineering, IT rooms, Construction and Nail & Beauty along with a learning resource centre.

             

The building's environment is maintained by means of mechanical ventilation introducing fresh air to all areas during summer and winter. Mechanical cooling is only provided to high heat gain areas such as IT facilities and high occupancy zones.

Design of the building has consciously made provision to maximise day lighting which reduces energy in respect of lighting. Lighting is controlled by accurate day light sensors which monitor availability and matches output of fittings accordingly.
